We are retirees advocating to maintain the retirement systems created for public employees and retirees of public sector retirement in Texas. The state legislature has been underfunding the state pension plan for the past 20 years.

Now, the pension is on a path to running out of money. To turn this around, we have a board of activist members who, along with other members, keep track of legislation and ongoing budget issues. We attend meetings at ERS, we attend hearings at the legislature, we testify at hearings and we meet with our legislators.  We write letters to our legislators and to the editors of our local newspapers, send emails and make phone calls.  We are committed to doing everything we can think of to keep our 70-year old retirement system alive.
