Elizabeth Goetzinger | she/they

Elizabeth Goetzinger begins her second, non consectutive term as Chief Steward in January 2023 after serving as president of AFSCME Local 3580 from 2017-2022. Her first term as Chief steward was in 2015. Elizabeth has been at Metro since 2006 and supports employee communications for Metro.
Elizabeth became active in the union in 2011 helping connect members with resources as part of the Member Action Team (MAT). She became a steward in 2012 and began serving on the Executive Board that same year. Elizabeth served as Oregon AFSCME President from May 2021-22 and graduated from the Harvard Trade Union Program in 2019.
Elizabeth believes the relationship between public sector unions, their elected leaders and partners in management, can provide inspiring, innovative opportunities to bring racial and economic justice for all people in communities they serve.
Away from work she enjoys trail riding with her horse Kaelyn and spending time with her husband and daughter.
