Delegates honor Activist of the Year, Phil Carter

OCSEA delegates stepped up to the virtual general session microphone to say a few words about ODOT union activist, brother Phil Carter. And, many got choked up talking about how OCSEA's Activist of the Year has impacted their lives and all that Phil has done for the OCSEA labor movement. Phil's love and dedication for the union is unwavering even as he faces a serious health battle.

"No matter the health battles he's fighting, he's still active, he still loves this union, and he's still fighting for people to get involved," said Peggy Joseph, OCSEA District 5 board rep, activist and friend to Phil. The new OCSEA Board of Directors' activism award was presented to and named for Phil Carter last year for his dedicated service to the union and the labor movement.
