The MSEA State Board of Directors has set the date, time and location for the 75th Anniversary and 56th General Assembly.

The Michigan State Employees Association (MSEA) has partnered with the Michigan Corrections Organization (MCO) and Senator John Cherry to introduce Senate Bills 165 - 166 -167.

Effective immediately, the MSEA Central Office has resumed normal business operations and hours.

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, the Central Office has reopened with strict safety protocols in place to protect both members and staff. Members needing assistance are asked to call the central office and schedule an appointment prior to entering the building.

 

Philadelphia – Penn Libraries staff, unionizing as AFSCME DC 47 Local 590 Penn Libraries United, announced this fall the results of their August election conducted by the National Labor Relations Board.

Federal money for programs and services that help millions of vulnerable Americans and employ many AFSCME members could be in jeopardy next year.

AFSCME is teaming up with allies to fight drastic cuts proposed by right-wing lawmakers. More draconian proposals are likely if Donald Trump is elected president in November and his allies seize control of Congress.

As labor unions gain in popularity, workers’ rights remain under threat. But while private sector workers have the right to form unions under federal law, public service workers lack that same guarantee.

This past February, conservation officers in Michigan won a hard-fought victory. After more than a yearlong battle, they secured a 12% wage increase, bringing their pay in line with other local and state public safety officers.

The last few years have seen a rise in worker momentum, with unionized workers raising their voices to demand higher pay, safer working conditions and more.
