Matan was elected to serve as President of the local in November 2022. He has been at Metro since 2019 and works as a community engagement specialist in the Parks and Nature department.

He’s Black and Filipinx. He grew up working class.

Things that give him hope: unions, the youth, public library systems. 

He dreams of a world beyond capital.
