Elected officials can dramatically affect the lives of our members. That's why the AFSCME Local 4041 has established an endorsement process to give members the information they need to make informed choices on Election Day.
Endorsements are made by the Law & Legislation Committee. They send questionnaires to all candidates, evaluate voting records, conduct interviews, and review other pertinent information prior to making their decisions.
Party affiliation doesn't matter. The bottom line is the candidate's support for issues that benefit public service workers and all working families.
“As our state enters a period of economic downturn, we trust these candidates to do what is best to protect the public services our communities rely on, and the workers who continue to provide these services. When our communities need us most, state, city and county employees continue to step up and provide essential services that keep Nevadans healthy and safe. We look forward to working with elected leaders and candidates to find solutions to ensure workers continue to have a voice on the job and our communities continue to receive the services they need,” said Harry Schiffman, electrician at UNLV and president of AFSCME Local 4041.
